Carta a Bush: detén la matanza

Señor Presidente de Estados Unidos de Norteamérica.

George W. Bush:

No sé si leerás esta carta, no porque no te llegue, sino porque eres incapaz de leerla, porque tu corazón está endurecido por el odio y los miedos, no tienes capacidad ni coraje para abrir tu mente y espíritu a la compasión. A pesar de todo, no puedo dejar de enviártela, porque si tú no la lees, estoy seguro que la leerán muchos hombres y mujeres, los que te piden que detengas la matanza contra el pueblo iraquí.

Cuando decidiste la invasión a Irak, a pesar de la oposición de los pueblos del mundo, no escuchaste su clamor de "No a la guerra, sí a la paz", cerraste tus oídos y tu corazón cuando las Naciones Unidas, las iglesias, las organizaciones humanitarias y de derechos humanos, reclamaban que debía imperar el estado de derecho y el respeto de los pueblos. Tú no estabas dispuesto a oírlo.

Te expresaba en otra carta que no desafíes a Dios, que no construyas la torre de Babel de la inmisericordia y el odio, que no te dejes dominar por la ambición del poder para imponer tus intereses políticos, económicos y militares. Te decía que reflexiones, porque lo que siembras, recoges. Lamentablemente no sabes honrar la vida, has dañado profundamente a toda la humanidad y a tu propio pueblo.

Ganarás batallas con tu ejército imperial y el de tus aliados; podrás demostrar el poderío de las armas y la alta tecnología de muerte; pero nada de eso te da la razón. La mayor de tus derrotas es que perdiste el respeto de los pueblos del mundo, y ganaste el rechazo en la conciencia de la humanidad, por todos los crímenes cometidos. En esta fuga hacia adelante te acompañan tus aliados de la muerte: Tony Blair, José María Aznar y John Howard.

Ocultas los verdaderos motivos de la invasión a Irak y buscas justificar las matanzas para apoderarte de los recursos del petróleo iraquí, y dominar el Medio Oriente para imponer tus planes de hegemonía mundial y la dictadura globalizada. Has transformando a Estados Unidos en un Estado terrorista. ¿Necesitaste masacrar al pueblo de Irak, matar niños y mujeres para sacar a un dictador que fue tu aliado?

Es necesario hacer memoria, no para quedarse en el pasado; nos debe iluminar el presente. La larga historia de invasiones lo confirma, Vietnam, Camboya, Yugoslavia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Santo Domingo, Haití, Cuba y las dictaduras militares que Estados Unidos impuso; la actual militarización y las bases militares en toda América Latina, y en otras partes del mundo. Podrás dominar militarmente, pero nunca podrás convencer.

Los pueblos no se dejan engañar por las campañas de desinformación y mentiras, que los medios de comunicación cómplices utilizan como acción sicológica, mostrando a los soldados estadunidenses y británicos en actos caritativos, regalando caramelos a los niños iraquíes, después de matar a sus familias y bombardear a la población ¿Cómo tratarás de justificar tus crímenes que llamas daños colaterales? ¿Cómo explicarás al mundo que buscas destruir las Naciones Unidas y desconoces el derecho internacional, para aplicar tus políticas de dominación, sin importarte el costo humano y la destrucción de otro países, aplicando el terrorismo de Estado?

¿Cómo justificar lo injustificable? ¿Puedes dormir sin que tu conciencia te castigue? Tu ejército bombardea con miles de misiles, ciudades y población civil; arroja bombas racimo de color amarillo y paquetes de comida de color amarillo al pueblo; métodos aberrantes empleados en Vietnam, Camboya y en la guerra del Golfo. Bombas y comida son tus "medicinas de la muerte". Tus generales dicen que ellos no cuentan cadáveres; cuentan las bombas que los producen.

La perversión no tiene límites; pero dices orar a Dios y te crees un predestinado para la humanidad. Lo mismo pensaba Hitler al desatar su locura y querer dominar el mundo. El Dios de la Vida te pedirá cuenta de tus crímenes. Eres responsable de crímenes de lesa humanidad y serás juzgado por tantas muertes y dolor contra el pueblo de Irak y otros.

El mundo ve con horror que repartes lo que no te pertenece, que las aves de rapiña que te rodean están al acecho para lanzarse sobre los despojos y la sangre del pueblo iraquí, para hacer negocios con el petróleo. Hablan de la "reconstrucción de Irak" colonizado y sometido a los intereses de Estados Unidos, y piensan cuanto ganarán.

Hablas de Dios y reniegas de él. Hablas de libertad y la destruyes. Hablas de democracia y dignidad, y no vacilas en sacrificarlas en el altar del dios Molok, tu dios de destrucción y muerte. Hablas de los derechos humanos, violándolos sistemáticamente.

La Organización de las Naciones Unidas es un estorbo para tus intereses. O se somete a tu voluntad o la destruyes. Pretendes constituir un tribunal para juzgar a tu ex aliado, Saddan Hussein, porque ya no te sirve; pero desconoces la Corte Penal Internacional para juzgar los crímenes de lesa humanidad. Quieres lograr la impunidad de tus soldados y la de ti mismo. No desafíes a Dios y a los pueblos del mundo. Los imperios caen, por más poderosos que sean.

Pudiste sembrar la paz y la solidaridad, y no lo hiciste. Pudiste generar programas para la vida y desarrollo de los pueblos, y no lo hiciste. Elegiste el peor de los caminos. ¿Quiénes serán tus próximas víctimas?

No puedo darte mi saludo de paz y bien, porque no crees en la paz y no practicas el bien. Sí puedo decirte que te arrepientas de tus crímenes y repares el mal que haces.

Letter to Bush – stop the massacre

Mr. President of the United States of North America

George W. Bush

I don’t know if you will read this letter, not because it won’t reach you, but because you are incapable of reading it, because your heart is hardened by hate and fear, because you don’t have the capacity or courage to open your mind and spirit to compassion. In spite of all this, I’m not able to stop it from being sent to you, because if you don’t read it, I’m sure that many men and women will read it, those who asked that you might thwart the massacre against the Iraqi people.

When you yourself decided the invasion of Iraq, in spite of the opposition of the people of the world, you did not listen to their protests: “No to war! Yes to peace!”, closing your ears and your heart when the United Nations, the churches, the humanitarian and human rights organizations, protested once again that the rule of law and the considerations of the people ought to rule. You weren’t disposed to hear them.

I expressed to you in another letter not to challenge God, not to construct the tower of Babel from mercilessness and hate, not to let yourself be dominated by ambitions of power to impose your political, economic and military interests. I said to you, reflect, because as you sow, so shall you reap. Lamentably, you don’t know how to honor life, you have profoundly endangered all of humanity and your own people.

You will win battles with your imperial army and those of your allies, will be able to demonstrate the power of arms and the high technology of death, but nothing of this gives you the right. The greatest of your defeats is that you will lose the respect of the people of the world, and win rejection in humanity’s conscience for all the crimes committed. In this flight to rush onward, you are accompanied by your allies of death: Tony Blair, José María Aznar and John Howard.

You hide the true motives of the Iraq invasion and seek to justify massacres  in order to seize the oil resources of Iraq, and to dominate the Mideast, and to impose your plans of world hegemony and global dictatorship. You have transformed the United States into a terrorist State. Do you need to massacre the people of Iraq, kill children and mothers to depose a dictator that once was your ally?

It’s necessary to remember and recall, not to remain in the past, but to allow ourselves to illuminate the present. The long history of invasions confirms it, Vietnam, Cambodia, Yugoslavia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba and the military dictators that the United States imposed; the current militarization and the military bases in all of Latin American and other parts of the world. You may be able to dominate militarily, but you will never be able to convince.

The people won’t allow themselves to be deceived by campaigns of disinformation and lies that complicit medias of communications use as psychological action, showing United States and British soldiers in acts of charity, giving out caramels to Iraqi children after killing their families and bombing the people. How are you going to justify your crimes of collateral damage? How will explain to the world that you seek to destroy the United Nations and ignore international law, in order to apply your policies of domination, without concerning yourself of the human cost and the destruction of other countries, applying State terrorism?

How to justify the unjustifiable? Are you able to sleep without your conscience castigating you? Your army bombs with thousands of missiles, cities and civil populations; hurled are cluster bombs yellow in color, and food packets also yellow, at the people, deviant methods employed in Vietnam, Cambodia and in the Gulf War. Bombs and food are your “medicines of death.” Your generals say they don’t count cadavers, they count the bombs that produce them.

The perversion has no limits, but you say you pray to God and that you believe yourself predestined by God for humanity. Hitler thought the same in unleashing his own madness and wish to dominate the world. The God of Life will ask you for an account of your crimes. You are responsible for crimes of great inhumanity and you will be judged for so much death and pain against the people of Iraq and others.

The world sees with horror that you dole out that which doesn't belong to you, that the birds of plunder that surround you are laying in wait to launch themselves over the pillage and blood of the Iraqi people, in order to do business with oil. They speak of the “reconstruction of Iraq” colonized and submitted to United States’ interests, and think as well that they will win.

You speak of God and blaspheme him. You speak of liberty and you destroy it. You speak of democracy and dignity, and don’t hesitate in sacrificing at the alter of the god Moloch, your god of destruction and death. You speak of human rights, violating them systematically.

The United Nations is an obstruction to your interest. Either it submits itself to your will or you will destroy it. You intend to constitute a tribunal to judge your ex-ally, Saddam Hussein, because he longer serves you, but you ignore and disown the International Criminal Court as judge of crimes of great inhumanity. You want to enjoy the impunity of your soldiers and they give you the same. Don’t challenge God and the people of the world. Empires fall, through greater powers than they.

You could sow peace and solidarity, but you don’t do it. You could generate programs for the life and development of peoples, but you don’t do it. You choose the worst of roads. Who will be your next victims?

I’m not able to give my greetings of peace and good will because you don’t believe in peace and don’t practice the good. I am able to tell you can repent of your crimes and can atone for the evil that you’ve done.
